"Jessica is among the finest music teachers I've ever known.
If I had to describe Jessica in one word it would be “Intuitive.” It was a pleasure to watch her adjust each part of each lesson to address just what I needed to work on that day, giving me the right direction and the right feedback for where I was in that moment. She is able to communicate the physical and mental “stuff” of singing in different ways depending on the context.
My son also took lessons from Jessica, so I got to observe her working with him and see the great results he got. He always came home from lessons in a great mood because Jessica’s lessons are very positive and she’s a joy to be around.
Lastly, I want to say a word about Jessica as a singer and performer. WOW. She’s just…amazing. She lights up a room with music and charm and personality.
We're sad that she’s left Portland, but…lucky you, Seattle! Lucky you!"

"Watching both of my girls learn music from Jessica was inspiring. She taught voice lessons to my elder daughter for many years and helped my daughter learn so many more things than just proper technique: confidence, proper audition etiquette, tools to manage stage fright, etcetera.
My younger daughter asked to take piano lessons from Jessica after watching her elder sister's lessons for a few years. Jessica was awesome at making lessons fun for the younger one but also having high expectations that my daughter worked hard to meet. I would describe Jessica's teaching style as gentle but firm; those high expectations really helped my girls to soar!"
"Jessica offers vocal coaching that goes beyond the vocal cords. Her technique hones in on anatomy and the breath but also attends to any fears the student might have in opening up the instrument. She can gently encourage the student to unlock the energy behind why they are closing off their body. The result is excellent vocal improvement but also a new personal freedom of expression. She is a delight to work with & I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation."
"I am a retired teacher and coach. In the course of my career, I damaged my voice to a point of constant hoarseness. I am now an actor in Portland and I decided I needed to improve my voice. I have been working with Jessica for the last 15 months. By following her coaching, I have improved immensely. I have gone from a 2 note range to a 10 note range.
Jessica has been caring and professional. She is an excellent teacher/coach. She has individualized her teaching to help me succeed. She has taught me techniques that help me in my everyday speaking. She is also an actor and singer. She brings that experience in helping me prepare audition songs and monologues. I have gotten several acting roles because of working with her. I highly recommend her as a voice teacher/coach."
“Jessica Libonati has been instrumental in helping me overcome vocal tension, vastly improving my technique and freeing me to find the joy in performing again. Her constructive, effective methods enabled me to break back into musical theatre last year after a long break. She’s a very talented singer and pianist, and a joy to work with.”
"I'm very picky when it comes to choosing a voice teacher. I wanted someone who could play piano and was versed in current musical theatre. I was mostly looking for help with audition prep. Jessica was extremely helpful with choosing songs, finding the right cut of the song, and then getting it up on its feet in a short amount of time. I also love Jessica's holistic approach to singing properly. I suffer from anxiety and Jessica was mindful of that and created a calm space where I felt like I could do anything. I'm very sad she moved to Seattle and can not recommend her enough!"
